RebelSat UNLV was founded on inspiring students in the field of aerospace engineering at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Currently, our team is focused on the development of the RebelSat-1 spacecraft. We are developing novel on-orbit maneuvering techniques to aid in the progression of space technology development and the advancement of space exploration.
THERMAL ENGINEER
RebelSat is looking for a student to lead the Thermal subsystem team. The thermal team lead will be responsible for coordinating and effecting a thermal team and plan in accordance with the requirements of the current mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordination of the Thermal subsystem members efforts, communication, and time.

Coordination with other subsystem leads and members.

Effective communication with other project leads and members.

Subsystem budget and timeline planning.

Maintaining legal, licensing, and regulatory requirements such as FCC, IARU, AMSAT, etc.

Understanding of mission needs and proposing effective solutions to mission requirements.

Develop relationships with UNLV staff and faculty to keep the thermal subsystem in good standing, enabling RebelSat to gain and maintain university assets as necessary.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree as a Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) student.

Good interpersonal communication, and follow-up skills.

Time management skills for yourself and subsystem members.

Good understanding of heat transfer and thermodynamic concepts, including, but not limited to equipment, modes of heat transfer, and thermodynamic cycles, etc.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Project planning experience.
-
Heat transfer and thermodynamic systems design experience, including but not limited to heat flow maps/diagrams, temperature gradients, radiators, engines, etc.

ME 314/315 credits.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work weekdays and weekends as necessary (flexible).

Export control course clearance via CITI Program.
ITAR/EAR REQUIREMENTS:

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
