EVENT COORDINATOR

RebelSat UNLV was founded on inspiring students in the field of aerospace engineering at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Currently, our team is focused on the development of the RebelSat-1 spacecraft. We are developing novel on-orbit maneuvering techniques to aid in the progression of space technology development and the advancement of space exploration.

EVENT COORDINATOR

RebelSat is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Event Coordinator to manage and execute events. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to plan and coordinate events from start to finish, ensuring that all aspects of the event run smoothly and efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all aspects of event planning and coordination, including venue selection, catering, etc.

  • Create and manage event timelines and budgets, ensuring that all deadlines and financial targets are met.

  • Liaise with vendors to ensure that all aspects of the event are delivered.

  • Coordinate and oversee event logistics, including transportation, accommodation, and equipment rental when needed

  • Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies to promote the event and increase attendance.

  • Attend and oversee the event to ensure that all aspects run smoothly and efficiently.

  • Manage and resolve any issues or concerns that may arise during the event.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree as a Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) student.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Flexibility and adaptability.

  • Previous event coordination experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work weekdays and weekends as necessary (flexible).

  • Export control course clearance via CITI Program.

ITAR/EAR REQUIREMENTS:

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
